'Healing Through Stories'
Oki, Theresa is a Blackfoot First Nation Woman from the Blood Tribe (Kainai), Treaty 7 Territory in Standoff, Alberta. She also honors her father’s Scottish and Danish ancestry. Theresa grew up in the child welfare system, as part of the 60’s Scoop.
Her healing journey has been anchored in the heart-work of being a mother and a grandmother.
Her guiding mission and affirmation is:
“I am a fearless woman, sharing the love of Creator unconditionally with others.”
Theresa’s Traditional Blackfoot name is “Naatosakii”– Sun Woman.
'Gathering Our Bundles' is an unravelling and decolonizing journey of being intentional, curious, and leading with love. Gathering Our Bundles is birthed from Theresa’s own healing journey as a Sixty’s Scoop Thriver. Theresa has been 'Gathering her own Bundle' for several years -- her story, her medicine, and her Gifts of Leadership entrusted to her by Creator are part of her Sacred Responsibility.
The vision is to Empower Indigenous Peoples and Leaders in their decolonizing journey of unraveling colonial beliefs, values, and ways of being. To better understand self, being rooted in love, kindness, creator, and trust. To begin a journey for individuals, leaders and work teams, a place to be curious and open to better understanding of self to begin or enhance their decolonizing journey.
It is about being curious and exploring the impacts of lateral violence due to colonization, and moving towards a place of meaningful relationships that are rooted in love, trust and connection creator. We want to find ways to strengthen our gifts, become better communicators and grow in connecting with ourselves and others. We desire to have important and authentic conversations for your own growth journey, working relationships and community.
Are you at a place in your journey to be courageous in doing the heart-work of reflecting and better understanding who Creator uniquely made you to be?
Do you like to be curious and open to learning about colonial history and the systems we live in?
Are you curious about what it means to decolonize and shift your perspectives?
Are you brave enough to have respectful and meaningful conversations that will reflect your own heart work?
Are your prepared to take on your Heart-Work and Sacred Responsibility of ‘Gathering Your Bundle'?
